CODE Davis buoy
Designed following the criteria of the CODE (Coastal Ocean Dynamics Experiment) established by Dr. Russ Davis of Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Albatros Marine Technologies has developed an iridium CODE/Davis Buoy to track surface sea currents.
Its robust design and small size allows for easy ship deployment, it is ideal to coastal and estuarian zones, but its iridium communication system allows full ocean coverage.
The CODE/Davis drifter is equipped with a standard or high precision sea surface temperature sensor, GPS/GNSS positioning and Iridium SBD bidirectional data communication. Autonomy ranges between 3-9 months, depending on configuration and battery pack options.
